When I think about my current line of work I often question if I should have started earlier or have done more.
At times I feel a little behind the game in some areas but world class in others.. (This is why comparison can be a thief of joy). I often remind myself that if I started started something earlier and gave it all my time it could have potentially eliminated other skills I now take for granted or wiped some of my most valued experiences that I currently utilize with life now.. This week I got to call to do a project requiring high level fitness, remote outdoor self sufficiency, and quick execution. It was the timely reminder I needed to value my past decisions for my current situation.
Value past experiences that contribute to you being a better you, and embrace future decisions that bring you closer to your goals.
Love is definitely in the air this week! 💕Caught a glimpse of these courting gray whales yesterday and are continuing to see some more courting today! We also can’t forget about those sweet humpbacks spotted as well! (📷: @will_janowiak_photography )

As the dust begins to settle from an incredible adventure to my home of New Zealand I am left in awe of my travel companion and partner. One year ago we met ever so randomly at a coffee shop not knowing a year from now we would be exploring the otherwise of the world together. It’s strange to think where life may take you sometimes but in this case I am utterly proud of this woman.
For someone who had little outdoors experience to be able to clock over +150kms of hiking through some of New Zealand’s marvellous walks is something to be in awe. I watched her lear, get captured by mountains and fall in love with exploring. Pushing herself even when it sucked was a reminder of grit we all have deep inside us. Spending just over 30 days with someone, almost 24/7 is a true testament to getting to know a person. There were plenty of great “learning opportunities” along our trip, but in the end it taught us the simple rule - communication is key. Thank you Masha for being a great partner in crime, it was a pleasure travelling with you. Here’s to all those people in our lives who make the journey a little bit more fun.
