Thank you for all the lovely comments on yesterday’s post and particularly for the love for photo 2, which may just have to have its own place in my gallery.
Today my daughter and I went into Bath to run some errands and thought we’d pop into The Bath Bun for lunch. We were given the choice of sitting upstairs or downstairs and plumped for downstairs. Having sat down and been given the menus, I wondered what the upstairs was like. After a quick peek upstairs and deciding it was cuter (is that even a word?), we asked if it would be ok to change our minds an go upstairs after all. ‘That’s fine’ he said.
Up we go and make ourselves comfy only to realise we’ve left the menus downstairs. So, instead of giving our order, we have ask for the menus to be brought up (same guy as before). ‘That’s fine’ he said. He gets the menus and we order.
Now what I haven’t told you is, it clearly states on the menu that it is ‘cash only, no debit or credit cards’. That’s fine I say to Hannah, I’ve cash I my purse . . . very rare occurrence for me, but I lost my debit card on Sunday (don’t ask) and so had brought cash out with me. As I said this I reached for my purse, just to check I had enough cash, only to find it wasn’t in my bag. I’d left it in the car after paying for the car park 🙄 It gets worse. Hannah didn’t have her card on her (she could have ran to an ATM) because she’d given it to me yesterday (in case I needed it) and guess what, it’s in my purse and my purse is in my car.
With no way of paying, I had to run back downstairs to tell ‘the guy’ to cancel our order because, dot dot dot . . .That’s fine’ he said. And we left 😆 Ever get the feeling you’re not suppose to do something? Oh my goodness, what a palaver. I bet he was glad to see the back of us, haha. Maybe next time 🍃🧡🍃
