For the days when I think I’m not doing enough or I’m not making enough progress, this picture is for me 🙏. Could I have made more progress? Sure ! But that doesn’t matter. Throughout this year I have learned balance which is so important! I go out every Friday night with my husband and we get Japanese BBQ, share a few beers, and the very next day we are at the gym together. Groene asperges met zalm en poached egg Recept voor 2 personen in stap 2: 250g groene asperges, 2 eieren, 100g gerookte zalm, 4el azijn, zout en peper Maak de asperges schoon en snijd ca. 3cm van de houtige onderkant eraf. Kook de asperges in ca. 5 minuten gaar. Breng ondertussen een pan met water aan de kook en voeg de azijn toe. Splits de eieren elk apart in een kopje of glas, maak met een lepel een draaikolk in het water en laat een ei voorzichtig erin glijden. Pocheer ca. 3 minuten en haal het ei eruit met een schuimlepel. Laat even uitlekken op een keukenpapier. Herhaal met het andere ei. Leg de asperges op een boord, verdeel de zalm eroverheen en leg een ei bovenop. Bestrooi met zout en peper. Stap 3: Wacht op de volgende stap als je ook weer een sneetje brood mag eten. Serveer op brood maar zonder hollandaise saus. Familietip: Serveer het gerecht op een snee brood met hollandaise saus erop.

Moms with Toddlers :- When I see this child..playing around her mom even at the time of workout I just remembered my initial days of weight loss. I always felt it was the most impossible thing for me to loose weight with having a 3 year old daughters schedule. I guess many moms will relate that with me....! She wanted to try everything I do. I’ve lost 81 POUNDS and I’ve found a whole new side of myself I never knew. This has been one of the hardest decisions I ever made, both mentally and physically. A lot of people are probably unaware of my families health history and that the women on my mothers side pass away or end up with traumatic surgeries with low quality of life in their 30’s/40’s. . #Self -Care. Self-care is important for physical, emotional and mental well-being. As a wife, mother and doctor I always find time to take care of myself. It hasn’t been easy but as I get older and wiser, I realize the importance of maintaining good health. As a result I have become a more positive, more productive, happier person. My Self Care Regimen: 🔸Daily: I eat healthy, low carb meals, aim to sleep 8 hrs. a night, and am currently learning to meditate 🔸Weekly: I exercise 3-4xs and make a point to get my hair done. 🔸Monthly: I treat myself to a mani/peddi, and love to read a good book. 🔸Yearly: I aim to get away from the craziness of life 3-4 times with my husband, family and/or friends. For fat loss should you do Cardio? Strength training? Both?🤔 . Here’s a great post by @chadhargrove1 explaining the differences between the 3 options. . People focus so much on which burns more calories but this isn’t even the important part. When you focus solely on calories, you’re still focusing on losing weight vs losing fat. - Calorie/energy balance is about weight loss — not fat loss. - The true benefit to strength training is how it forces your body to DISTRIBUTE that energy. A good lift puts your body into a state where it knows it needs to send nutrients to the muscles. - Think of it this way: - When you lift weights or aim to get stronger while you’re in a calorie deficit — however you create that deficit — you’re essentially telling your body: - “Hey, um, I know you need energy because you’re not getting enough from food, but we’re doing these deadlifts and trying to do chin ups, so you’re gonna have to take fat for energy because I clearly need the muscle.” - Without any fancy words, that is basically what’s happening. Weight training and protein signals to your body the muscle has to stay. Your body isn’t dumb, it does what it needs to do to support your body’s environment. - But if all you do is cardio your body will eventually decide that muscle can go along with the fat. - And if that happens, you aren’t getting leaner — just smaller. - And that’s not what you signed up for right? - So no, I don’t have a problem with cardio. I just have science and a simple way to explain that cardio alone isn’t gonna help get you get lean. - By all means, you can do just cardio and lose fat — but eventually it’ll come with losing muscle. And if you just like cardio? Go for it. . If you have any questions, ask away. I will ask him for you 🥺

I had someone in my life who told me that I couldn’t become anything.⁣ I had someone in my life who said I wasn’t worth it.
