One of the aquatic activities we did in Cozumel was the snorkel exploration of some of the island's most emblematic underwater sites: the Palancar Reef, the Colombia Reef and "El Cielo" (The Sky). I managed to record a small segment of our tour.
We leave from the Ferry dock in a boat with direction to the Palancar Reef, the journey lasted about 45 minutes but it was very pleasant since we enjoyed the view towards the coasts and to the imposing cruise ships that reach the island, the guide took advantage of this time to give us instructions and to provide us with the snorkeling equipment. Upon arriving at Palancar, we descended from the boat to start the tour, the reef is spectacular, it's full of life, in one moment our guide went down to the seafloor and as he passed much more fish came out. From there we swam to the Colombia Reef, known for its benefits for diving since it's deeper and has caves, tunnels and gigantic corals to explore. After touring this point, we boarded the boat to go to "El Clielo" (The Sky), a place famous for its abundance of starfish, we managed to spot some although the sea was a bit stirred by the weather. Finally they took us to "El Cielito" (The Little Sky), a shallow area where the crew offered us a drink to enjoy the scenery for a long time.
The attention of the agency and our guide was very good, unfortunately, we had a cloudy day and the sea was a little agitated, we hope to repeat the activity in the near future with better weather.
I recommend you do the activity if you know how to swim very well and prepare early with a good breakfast to have your energy at 100%. The time dedicated to the activity is just over three hours, you can hire the tour at the stands that are at the exit of the ferry terminal.
