I often wonder why sometimes we post self-portraits in places that maybe most of us never dare or dream to go? Well, I had a dream to GO to the state of Oregon. It is SO nature-ly beautiful in so many ways I lost count.
I wanted to share briefly how I ended up here.
I went to find a lighthouse and found a beach with a crawlspace through a rock instead. I actually was quite frustrated at first, because all the detours were not helpful in my destination. I had wanted to see the Octopus Tree, I had driven an hour and 45 minutes on my vacation to see this space.
I gave up.
As I was doing my drive of shame back towards anything else besides a lighthouse, I spotted a road that looked interesting, but it led me to Oceanside. Initially I was content in this find...even though I could tell quite a few people were there enjoying the beach. I decided to walk around and take pictures.
As I found out later, I saw people exiting a square hole in the rock formation on the north end of the beach. I didn't know what it was - I assumed just a cutout. But then, it led me to a 2nd beach that was virtually empty - with magical neon seaweed and dripping water from the high tides. I found little cave-like inlets that cooled me off on the hot summer day. It was amazing.
to be continued.
