How much love and respect is reflected by your movement practice?
The goal of yoga is to unify. You with your Self and then yourself with the world around you. The way you treat your Self on your mat, tells a lot about how you treat the world and the people around you. Do you practice mindless, just repeating the sequence or do you visit and connect with every move like an old friend, curious about what he has to tell you today? Are you willing to learn new stuff when you need to and stick to the stuff you haven’t mastered yet whenever that’s necessary? Are you willing to dive deeper? Connect with your Self on a more subtle level or do you just want to do the cool moves? Do you back off way before you even get near your limits, do you constantly push yourself too far or do you dance on the line between too little and too much in that place of juuuuuust right? Are you disciplined? Can you make a commitment? Will you work at whatever it is your body and mind needs next. Like really needs, not just what you want to think it needs. Are you persistent, even when your practice isn’t all fun or will you run for the hills the moment you get physically or mentally challenged?
Lots to think about on this international yogaday. What can you do to bring more of whatever it is you need in your movement practice to become a better you every single day, not only today? Now go do that! I’m here to support you. I believe in you. See you on the mat! 💫
