Time to review Lebanon.
Expensive as hell. Outside of transportation and happy hour, pricing was similar to that of San Francisco. Yes. San Francisco. Some nice ancient, historical spots. Nothing was special about Beirut although it does have some nice neighborhoods for walking and looking. As well as the many bullet holes to remind you of its short-lived war Israel (which they don't even acknowledged on the map. Calls it occupied Palestine). Baalbek was not worth the 4h round-trip travel and $10 entrance. Unless you really really love to see 2 Roman temples. To be fair they were huge. Byblos was a nice Sunday day trip. Cute small unesco heritage town. The people were decent. Some were helpful and nice. One ripped me off.
Parties wise. In relative to its location and more conservative neighbors, Beirut can be considered to be a party city. For everywhere else tho, (especially Europe), it was a Tuesday.
In all, I noticed that Lebanese people like to hype things up way more than they are. Or maybe it's just me.
Rating: B-. I wouldn't recommend visiting here unless youre like me and want to see every country in the world. Just too expensive for what you're getting. I won't be coming back.
P.s. Just like Jordan, it's completely safe. At least for a man. No one is gonna pickpocket or mug you like they would in major European cities. I'd know. I walked 4 miles at 6am through like 5 areas in Beirut.
