In my previous post, I somehow forgot to put the original photo together with the processed one. But in this post, I included it just for people to realize something.
You can see how post-processing took place in enhancing not just the quality, but the overall feel of the photograph. I wanted to convey that the sun is settling down even though this was shot early in the morning. The OG piece obviously looked dull, at least imo.
Before someone asks, I already know photography basics (just like every budding photographer should). It’s just that my Canon DSLR (which is a 60D) already has limitations when capturing photos— and you can see it well in the original photo when you swipe right.
My heavy DSLR, together with its lenses, are all excellent and they brought me to several places I never imagined I could reach and see. This camera was one of the best during its time, no doubt it can still perform good— not just as great as new DSLR and mirrorless bodies I’ve tried after I started my work journey as part of the tech media: Sony a7s, a7s II, a6500, a6400, Canon EOS RP, Fujifilm X-T30, anyone?
This is also one reason why I think people should stop bragging their #NoFilter shots and just accept the fact that post-processing is unavoidable. At the end of the day, it will still take place even when you just click your phone’s camera button or press the shutter button on your cameras with adjusted settings (most of you in Auto) and applied camera features along the way.
Shot this on Marina Bay Sands’ Infinity Pool (I really just wanted to capture the architecture façade around but I realized then it would feel better if the pool and human elements are in the composition 🥴).
