This isn’t incredibly profound or anything, but does anyone else find it weird that social media puts us at “arm’s reach” of people that we used to have some kind of connection with (old friends, ex-‘lovers’, extended family) yet may never speak to again? People we haven’t spoken to in years, but somehow feel connected with because we’ve been watching them express themselves from a distance? Sometimes I get the urge to reach out - apologize for how I treated some of you in the past, ask about the goals I remember you setting for yourselves.. I mostly just choose to stay in my own lane these days. I watch out for my family, my clients, and the friends and lovers I keep close to me. Our generation romanticizes the concept of keeping our “circle small”, and I’m okay with that most of the time. It keeps me motivated and focused on being a better man.
So I’ll continue playing my own game.
And I’ll continue to watch yours from the sidelines.
