Last year, my travels to Nepal were quite eye-opening. Besides this insane view, I learned a lot about what it means to be a "commercially-rural region." This portion of the Everest Base Camp Trail, although it doesn't appear so, is heavily populated with travelers. This became apparent with the food choice: burgers and pringles, or traditional Nepali cuisine. While I don't doubt that Nepal benefits from an influx of tourism and attention, I can't help but think what could have been...or what will be?
