Miles from anything.. light years from everything 🙏
Our Universe fills the heavens above Shenandoah National Park and Bearfence Mountain ✨ .
This post goes with deep respect out to our twilight and dawnlight photographers.. It was only about a 10 minute hike from my hammock to this incredible view from atop the Bearfence Mtn rock scramble but as I cautiously scaled the rocky summit by headlight and settled to soak in the stillness of night in the swift breeze, I felt gratitude for the time and effort we give into a photograph. There has been more than many times I've put myself into situations I wasn't positive I'd make it home ok from, many if not all of them without cel signal and wandering by gravel road or by flashlight in remote unfamiliar dark places.. the absence of sunlight adds a much different challenge to photography, as does early, late and long hours seeking and traveling to clear and dark skies and pleasing landscapes.. all we do in hopes of a beautiful capture of our night or early dawn skies and magic of our world. Or is at least how I do it ☺
There is a story, an adventure, an exhausted thankful photographer behind the shadows of every photo that so many will never know.. and these are just a few of the reasons I totally love doing this!
Its not a lifestyle for many so to my brave and adventurous brothers and sisters who give so much to capture and share the mystery and beauty of nature and of our World and beyond.. much respect and thank you!!! Its a boundless beautiful journey, adventure always my friends.. and don't forget fresh batteries 🙌 .
